1970 GTX |
last update 07/13/2008

The GTX has gone through several transformations in the past few years, lets fast forward to 7/13/08. Andy in the foreground and Joe is helping Annie out with her burnout. Notice the 6.98 dial in for the 8th mile run! This is a "first" time ever the GTX has ran under 7.0 seconds.
The rear suspension is hooking hard and the front tires are lifting, another first!
Round one match up.

Annie had a great time at the Mopar races in Boise in June '01 with the GTX and went to the final round to finish runner up. Nice job! |

| The engine specs are no longer correct as of 7-12-08. The restoration of this car took 2 years to complete. The car was in pretty good shape when I bought it. The original engine had been replaced with a later model 440 which I swapped out for a 1970 engine with only 45,000 mile. The engine was hot tanked and inspected to find it didn't need bored. A repro 375 hp cam and a new set of rings and bearings and a set of fresh 915 heads along with a 780 cfm holly and the Mopar performance ignition were the only performance add ons for the GTX. The car runs and drives like a new one with the help of the rebuilt front end and a Firm Feel stage 3 power steering box. I chose a color which resembles the burnt orange color which came on the car originally. |
